Important Race Day Information
Bib Pick-Up
A pre-race bib pickup will be held on Wednesday (the day before Thanksgiving) from 4-6 in the Garrison School Gymnasium. In-person registration will also be available during this time. The cost for in-person registration increases slightly from online registration.
Race Day Registration and Bib Pickup
- Runners can pick up Bibs and register for the race starting at 7:00am to 8:15am in the Garrison School Gymnasium. If registering race day, please try to arrive early to avoid long lines. It will get very busy!
- Cash, Check, or electronic online payments will be accepted, but electronic payments will incur a processing fee.
- We will have a pre-race stretching session at 8:00am
- Race start time is 8:30am
Merchandise Sales:
We will have a limited amount of race shirts, as well as Turkey Trot socks available for purchase during bib pickup and on race day. Cash, Check, or electronic online payments will be accepted, but electronic payments will incur a processing fee.
Pets / Dogs:
It is Garrison Elementary School policy that pets are not allowed on the school property. We love our furry friends, but please leave yours at home on race day!
Bathrooms:
Bathrooms will be available inside of the school.
Awards:
- Awards will be presented immediately following the race, (once the winners from all age groups finish the race), inside the Garrison School Gymnasium so that our participants and volunteers can get home to their Thanksgiving celebrations.
- Awards are given for the following categories: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place overall male and female, then 1st male and female for ages 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, as well as in the following age groups: 10-14, 15-20, 21-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+.
Racing Protocol:
- Dover Turkey Trot welcomes runners and walkers of all ages and abilities. As a courtesy, please remember that walkers and all those walking or running with strollers should start in the back of the pack. This will leave the start line open for those with the fastest feet!
- As a courtesy to all participants, please stay home if you are not feeling well.
Inclement Weather:
Dover Turkey Trot will only be canceled due to inclement weather if the City of Dover Police Department makes the decision to do so. In the event that this occurs there are no refunds.
